Dear Parent/Guardian,
As part of Health Week, Cork Sexual Health Centre will visit McEgan College on
Thursday 5th of March next. They will deliver information to students in an age appropriate manner. The sexual health centre health promotion team will deliver information on areas such as:
Relationships
Consent
Communication
Gender
Sexuality
Puberty
Conception
Contraception
Condom demonstration
Sexually transmitted infections
HIV
STI screening and what it entails
Signposting and information to appropriate services
Issues discussed will depend obviously on the year group in question. They will provide information booklets to students on any topics covered as part of their session.
If you would prefer your son/daughter to not participate in this progralnme please contact the school and ask to speak with Ms. Lynam, Ms. Corkery or Ms.Manning to state same.

TUI Strike Letter Tuesday 4th February
Letter to Parents

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
The teaching union Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) have informed the ETB that all TUI union members have been directed to take strike action on Tuesday 4th February. Pickets will be placed on all schools/centres where TUI members are employed on that day.
Cork Education and Training Board and the Board of Management of Bishop McEgan College has reluctantly decided that it cannot guarantee the health and safety of students on the school premises on that day and consequently the building will remain closed. Therefore, we are informing you not to send your child to school on Tuesday, 4th February.
The school will be open to receive students on Wednesday, 5th February.
